In Arizona, July can seem to drag on-and-on-and-on. The kids have been out of school for over a month and it’s an inferno out there. It’s scary to think that although summer only “officially” began June 20th, we hit a record-breaking high of 119 that very day. Yikes. Us Arizonians know that our summer has been here for a few months and won’t be leaving until, say, Thanksgiving? To help you keep your cool this summer, we’ve compiled a list of fun things to do this month in Phoenix, with or without the kids.

Kids In Tow

  • July 16: “Winter in July” – Phoenix Zoo – 7-11am
    • The Phoenix Zoo is putting on a “chilly” event! Come cool down with 35 tons of snow to play in, snow targets, wet-n-wild water play activities, and an 8-foot snow slide! Live music will be provided along with a craft activity and book signing by the authors of Zoology for Kids. The animals will also have a chance to cool off, come see them enjoying icy treats or watch Reba the Elephant cool off with a fireman’s hose. All of these activities and many more are included in the cost of general admission. For more information, click here.
  • Fridays: “Live and Local Fridays” – Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts 6pm – Happy Hour; 8pm – Concert
